One of my clients has an exclusively nursing 6 mo. old baby and is now 7 wks
pregnant with #2 (surprise!). She developed HELLP at 35 weeks with her first
baby, at which time her water spontaneously ruptured and she delivered her
baby. With this new pregnancy, her MD is advising that she cease nursing
entirely by the time she is 20 weeks along. My question: what kind of risk
is nursing during pregnancy to someone with her history?

TIA,
Lisa Marasco, BA, IBCLC
