Just to add my .02 on the Brenda Wilson
report...
I though that it was a good report -
balancing the benefits and risks of bf
and, more importantly I think, putting the
issue is a cultural, medical, human perspective.
The report ended with the statement that the
best protection for babies is mothers who
protect themselves.
The issue is not just breastfeeding and
whether the report is pro bf or not. BF is part
of an ongoing life for mothers and babies, it
fits into a context of sexual practices, pregnancy,
birth, other children, poverty (personal and national)
etc.
