Hi friends...I have a relative of a client who needs help in St. Louis, MI.
She delivered a 33 week gest. baby (c/s) at St. John's Regional Medical
Center. Anyone on line work there? From the sound of it (not always
accurate), they are not very bf friendly. The L/D dept didn't even have a
pump for her and had to order it. They are not letting her hold the baby
and are tube feeding. The hosp staff told her that "no premies should nurse
at the breast because it expends too many calories." She's been referred to
LLL for support, but I think she needs an IBCLC for technical backup.
Please email me privately as well as posting (we all have the flu and I'm a
day or so behind in posts). TIA! Chris
