Well I tell moms of non-nursing babies that pumping is a substitute. I
think that not all moms have great supplies, even with optimal pumping
practices, because
1. letdown does not always occur well with the pump - yes, can be
conditioned
2. the pump flange is a one size fits all deal - yes there are a couple
options - but basically (e.g. the Medela) kit has to fit all women all
over the world. I give the example, "when you go to shop for a bra,
aren't there all kinds of shapes and sizes? Too bad we have only this
one size fits all. Therefore, Results may vary."
