I just saw this last night, funny that Maureen posted about it today,
the web page says "This examination does NOT validate the nurse's
knowledge to function as a Lactation
Consultant. If you are interested in Lactation Consultant certification,
you should contact the
International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners, 7309 Arlington
Blvd., Suite 300, Falls Church, VA
22042-3215, or call (703) 560-7330. www.iblce.org " This web page is
located at
http://www.NCCNET.ORG/breastfd.htm
I personally didn't feel this would effect LC status, first you have to
be an OB Rn with 2 years experience and have to be certified in OB
before you can take the breastfeeding subspecialty exam....
