Hi All,
I need information and a reference for the standard guidelines for mothers
of twins regarding their caloric intake during exclusive BF. The WIC
program does not give BF mothers of twins more food vouchers than a BF
mother off a singleton (however, if the mother is ABM feeding then she gets
twice the ABM as each child is seen as an individual...). My friend (who is
currently preg with twins) is on WIC and feels, as do I, that to NOT give
extra food vouchers to a woman exclusively BF twins (or more) is ridiculous.
She talked with a gal at the head WIC office, who agreed with her but had no
answers or suggestions to help. So, my friend would like to try and make a
difference (possibly a major change??) and give WIC the approrpriate
nutritional guidelines for BF women of multiples, in hopes that WIC will
rethink its position. BTW, WIC will not issue the BF food vouchers for a
woman BF one twin and ABM feeding another...interesting, huh?

Another question for you OB types, somewhat off topic...when a mucous plug
is being lost over a period of several days (37 - 38 wks into preg) is it
common for there to be some light green mucous? (you know, like the green
color of a kids runny nose) Not all the mucous is green, only a bit here
and there, and only when large amounts of fmucous is lost.

TIA!
