Stacey says,

<< speaking purely from personal experience, the first thing you do is check
 the scales!~ Mom was told her baby lost 13 oz in 1.5 wks and put a scare
 in her. Fortunately, she (mom) had the sense to recheck the scale and
 after feeding for five minutes baby had gained 16 oz! A MIRACLE. No,
 just poor scale management. >>

The cases to which I am referring -- both babies were weighed on the same
scale a week apart.  Neither had gained any (or minimal weight) in the week;
both were still considerably under birth weight. When they came to my office,
and were weighed on my scale, my weight agreed with the weight ascertained in
the pediatrician's office. Three weights -- now on two different scales. And
voila, when ac/pc weights were done, the babies were not taking in an adequate
amount.

No one has yet responded to my question asking for an explanation of adequate
voids & stools, yet inadequate weight gain (with obvious inadequate intake).

Any thoughts?

Jan Barger, in Wheaton where it is a balmy 15 below 0 this morning. Yikes!!!
