Hi All,
Many thanks to those who sent me info and thoughts on nipple shield use and
decrease in supply. I am swamped right now, so am taking advantage of this
wonderful group we have to thank all of you. The topic has been
stimulating, to say the least! My client (best friend) is much relieved to
know that she will be fine, and with a great LC and myself to back her up
(with your help) I know she will be too!
Now, I have one question re: the old nipple shields. One of our members
talked about a shield that had the baby quite a distance away from the
mothers actual nipple. HOW did this baby the milk from the breast??? If
the baby was never actually ON the breast, how did this work? Did the baby
suck like crazy on the shield and create suction that was enough to draw the
milk out of the breast???
still trying to figure that one out and wishing I could see some pictures of
these devices...
