Dear Kathy, don't you think the infrequent use of antibiotics has something
to do with it? Antibiotics have become so generally used in the perinatal
period for mother and/or baby in US that I think it is no surprise that we
are seeing universal problems with thrush. And I think (expensive or not)
diflucan will soon lose it's effectiveness, just like Nystatin. It is
used incorrectly so often that candida can't help but begin to resist it.
Why don't HCPs "get it" that you have to treat mother AND baby and for an
