Well, shoot me down in flames, but I have never known *any* baby be soothed
*convincingly* amd *consistently* with gripe water. It sells by the bucket
load in the UK, even after they took the alcohol out of it (see Magda's
brief history!), but no one has ever said to me 'well, since I started
giving that gripe water he's been fine....'
Yeah, yeah, maybe the baby seems less windy or colicky once or twice, but
I put that down to chance, cynical ol' me.
It does some good, I suppose, in being a simple and probably benign
'medication' that grandma can recommend, which might keep *her* happy.
