According to Riodan & Auerbach, direct massage of the breasts is a
time honored practice for engorgement, to stimulate milk production and
drainage, and even to relieve the discomforts of labor. Massage of the
back is also frequently recommended to relieve discomfort from
engorgement or to help the mother to relax (to assist let-down). Since
massage intent is to relax the body, muscles and spirit - I do not feel
that any toxins that would negatively affect the breast milk would be
released. Especially since direct breast massage is used so frequently
around the world.
