<<<1. Does the UK have the worst breastfeeding rate in Europe? I thought
it was
Ireland that did, but I've just heard differently. And of course there are
different ways of defining "breastfeeding rate.">>>

According to the Unicef rates it wouldn't be The Netherlands, but it the
last coupe, of years, the bf rates have dropped very fast. It's 17% at 3
months now.

Everyone is guessing why this has happened, but I bet it is due to the
introduction of the law that was meant to implement a part of the WHO-code
in 1994. This law gave so much room that since that time the amount of
advertisments have increased enourmously. Last week a new thing: formula
ads on television....

Ths tactic is: advertisments for follow-up formula, since that is not
covered by thwe law, and that way promoting the brand, the package, etc.
Milupa is a new brand here, and is marketing very aggresively.

<<<2. What is the price for human milk, for instance banked donor milk, in the
UK? The price charged to the recipient is what I'm looking for. In the U.S.
it's about $2.50 an ounce (over $80 a liter). The milk itself is actually
free; the money that changes hands is considered a processing fee.>>>

Nope, since we do not have any milk bank. :(
