Mary,
I think her supply IS low. This baby was losing wt in early week(s) and
I feel this is a critical time for establishing supply potential. I
think when supply is good/high, the letdown is much better too.
I would recommend that she continue regular milk expression (make sure
it is a really good pump, btw), with massage, add hand expression after
pumping. Use breast compression when baby at breast. Consider herbs
and/or prescription galactagogue. Would a nursing supplementer work?
Don't know how well baby can make seal, handle the flow, etc. Maybe if
he gets the obturator. Good luck to all.
