Since some time ago Kathleen asked for good news, here are a couple of mine:

1. I finally got to watch (and tape) Mr. Rogers' show on breastfeeding
today! Thanks to the person who alerted us on Lactnet a while ago. I
thought it was very nice. No beating around the bush, here. Good views,
nice closeups, milk dripping out. Several different mothers and their
babies are shown breastfeeding, obviously enjoying the experience. Nicely
multicultural, as we say in the USA. One mother feeds with a bottle. Mr.
Rogers comments on the closeness and love that go with breastfeeding.

2. Every year I receive a brochure for a Florida conference called
"Management of the Tiny Baby," sponsored by Arnold Palmer Hospital and
Shands Children's Hospital. Formerly, the brochures were plastered all
over with pictures of bottles. This year, for the first time (21st annual
conference), not one bottle appears anywhere in the brochure, although
Ross/Abbott and Mead Johnson are still among the sponsors. I think this is
a big step forward, and suspect someone worked hard to achieve this. One
step at a time.
