Sounds good to me. When parents ask why baby is this way,  a version of your
rationale is a good answer: "he is so enthusiastic in his learning to
breastfeed, and so smart, he knows this is exactly where he needs to be!, lets
help him get a little bit better latch so he will get plenty of milk for his
efforts, and dad here is how you can help mom to relax and how you can help
the flow of milk for this eager baby,  so that baby can get more milk out
easier...............".

To explain the tendancy of having that bottom lip tucked in, I also may
suggest the possibility that baby may have been sucking on his fingers before
birth and just have a habit of sucking in that way, and that we are now
helping him to learn, sooner rather than later, a suck that is more effective
and comfortable for mom.
