Aloha Pat,
I couldn't resist after reading your post.
A few months back I had a bit of a BF tiff with my 8 year old daughter.
We do not have bottles in the house, however, she was pretending to feed
her doll with a bottle. I know she is at an age now with peer pressure,
but I called her on it. I asked her (actually I probably told her)
breastmilk better be in the bottle. She responded that when she had real
babies, she would feed them however she pleased. To which I replied, if
you do not breastfeed do not come around to my home. I couldn't bite my
tongue, the words just came out. I then sat down and talked with her
about breastfeeding---we even got into birth. The next day in the car,
she again was bottlefeeding. I asked her why----I just wanted to
understand. She said, mom don't worry, when I have real babies, I'll
breastfeed them. I said, if you promise to breastfeed your real babies,
I will not bother you anymore about your dolls! And I haven't! :D
