Well, the results are in. I asked here and on another list I'm on about
any change in LC work since the CH fiasco.

3 people said that they had not only seen no drop in their clientele, but
an increase.

5 people said that they had seen a drop in clients, but 3 of these said
that it is usual for this time of year.

2 said that they suspected an effect on women's decision to breastfeed.

1 had an encounter that confirmed a negative effect.

Almost all said that parents of newborns whom they had talked to *didn't*
watch the program, but a few said that their parents had and were greatly
concerned about the risk of breastfeeding if there were any challenges to
getting started.

As I said in my post, I believe that the greatest impact will be on support
people.

Thanks to all of your who sent a reply.

One distinct, short-term benefit of having NO new clients for the past 2
weeks is that I have caught up with Lacntet reading. I had unread messages
from September!
I apologize to those of you who wrote private posts and asked for quick
responses and didn't hear from me. Since I get my posts individually
instead of in digests, I can't tell the difference between private posts
and Lactnet posts until I open them.

One other benefit of having no face-face clients is that I have a terrible
cold and I wouldn't be able to see anyone anyway. I'm not taking this
illness very well because it has been a couple of years since I had a cold
that really "got" me. This one is a BEAR! And so am I.

It is in my head and I want to keep it there. On Friday night my sinuses
were paining and I had a headache. It came to me in my delirium that it
was due to "swelling." So, what does one do for swelling???

I put cabbage leaves all over my forehead and under my eyes, and held it
all on with an eye pillow that was infused with lavender. When I awoke 3
hours later the headache was gone along with the sinus discomfort. How
about that?!

I'm trying to take this lull as Gift since I had been working far too much
for a while. I'm getting a lot of stuff done that I needed to do, but the
pay isn't as good. :)

haven't finished with raking leaves, and I don't care, because I have this
cold......
