Why do babies pull on the breast while suckling, throwing their heads back and
taking the nipple with them? I have had more than one mother complain about
this and I am new in this field. What I have observed is that it happens
towards the end of the feeding. Could it be frustration that their is
dwindling milk? Is it associated with growth spurts? I have seen it in 2
month old babies and 5 month old babies. What gives here? And what is a
mother to do? TIA. Loni Denman RN, IBCLC, who got the biggest thrill meeting
Kathleen Auerbach up close and personal last weekend!
