Kathy Parkes' mention of the newest set of freebies just goes to show we
are having an impact. How many of you read and concur with KBRuce's ending
quotation from Shoepenaur (sp?).?

Rather than bang your head into bricks (not great for the brain), how about
seeing if you can get rid of all the stuff with the logo on it if it MUST
be given out? Are any of the items "clean" of such ownership? If so, pull
all the other stuff.

Then, to use it as an educational opportunity, consider asking the health
workers how many other items they could identify that are in hospitals that
have logos of such companies on them. Perhaps the person who identified the
greaterst number could win some sort of prize. I would then follow that up
with a question: how many other floors are inundated with such "freebies"
and to what degree does this mean that the care the patients receive on
other floors is so much better that gifts are not necessary to encourage
the patients to return?!
Just a thought. (Do recall, however, that I do not have to deal with
hospital political issues insofar as I maintain my own practice and
therefore am not BOMBARDED by such negative materials.) Good Luck, KP.
Let us knokw what you do and what happens from others.
