1. When they want their babies to be the healthiest possible
2. When they have concerns about the quality of an industrialized product vs. the quality of their own milk product.
3. When they think about the Y2K problem and whether food will be available for their families.
4. When they realize that their breastmilk has important behavioral hormones that will "Program" their baby to act like a human and fall in love with mom.
5. When they visit the grocery store and realize that it will cost about $100/month to give their baby a product which is inferior to their own product (which is free).
6. When they realize that, at it's best, industrial methods are subject to human error, and their baby may be adversely affected by that quality control problem.
7. When they think about the fact that "anyone could feed the baby" and realize that this option is not necessarily a good one.
8. When they realize that, by giving in to formula, they have become their own mother.(If formula fed)
9. When they think about the tremendous value breastfeeding has when referenced years later to teenagers who think that "mom owes them" for some past injustice.
10. THE BEST reason why women should NOT formula feed is because they will miss out on that great moment when baby looks up at you when breastfeeding, can't resist smiling, looses the latch, re-latches and absolutely gives you the most loving, wonderful look of adoration that you will ever see in your lifetime. That's all.
