Hi,
Just wanted to report that Kathleen Auerbach's article on choosing an LC is in
Mothering magazine, issue no. 92, Jan/Feb 1999, pp. 66-69.
In the same issue, there is an excerpt from the book Your Amazing Newborn by
Klaus and Klaus, with a series of photos showing a newborn finding his own way
to his mother's breasts. The smile on his face when he's accomplished his
mission (p. 41) is absolutely incredible! (Don't tell me it's gas.)
One thing mentioned on p. 39 of this excerpt is that the smell and taste of
amniotic fluid is similar to that of the secretion of the Montgomery glands,
providing the baby with a sensory guide to his mother's nipple. I hadn't
heard this before.
