First, may I make another plea to use generic names? Metoclopramide is sold
under Reglan in the US, Maxeran in Canada (though I think there is also
Reglan), and Maxelon in Australia.
I would urge this mother not to use metoclopramide just because. The side
effects for the mother are not minimal with this drug. Indeed, they can be
quite distressing and fairly severe, and in some, rare situations,
irreversible (tardive dyskinesia).
Having said that, the use of domperidone (which has a similar mode of
action, but with many fewer side effects) together with fenugreek has not
caused any problems.
