Lee-Ann,
IMHO you are not coddling these moms, you are providing the best
possible nursing care! What you are experiencing is common at the busy
hospital where I work. It is located in a suburb of Washington, DC so
we see a lot of these moms. Many of them will admit to their insecurity
with a newborn. They tell me they have led busy lives and could
function well in their job environment, often at the top of their field,
but are overwhelmed as new moms. They feel they no longer have control
and yet are responsible for this fragile newborn.
By answering their often repetitive questions you are educating them
and/or empowering them as mothers (their new job).

of Washington, DC capitol
of the USA)
