    jumping into this discussion.... I see scales as tools... as with any
other tool they can be used or abused...

     there was an excellent example given where "test weighing" resulted in no
supplementation and support for the mother....

      I was called once to see a baby  who was admitted for dehydration .... I
was able to document that baby was getting intake from the mom and so if there
was a problem, feeding was not it!

      In the long and short we need to look at tools as just that... tools..
