Dear Lactnet,
In reference to topicals to relieve sore nipples: Tea bags provide the most
relief.
I know personally of several women that were suffering with sore nipples and
within 24 hrs. of application of the tea bags they were pain -free. The
tannic acid apparently provides the medicinal relief. Boil water just like
you are making tea. After the the bags steep, remove them, squeezing them
out. Place them directly on the nipple. A plastic bag can be laid on top to
prevent saturating the bra. Remove and allow the nipple to air dry several
times a day. Twenty-four hours does the trick.
It works.
