Hello,

Today there was a special on breastfeeding in "Catherine" the most popular
talkshow in the Netherlands. Every day 1 million people (merely women) look
at it (out of a 15 million population).

It was wonderfull. It is set up a la Oprah, so guests talk about their
experiences. They talked about how wonderfull it is to breasfeed, how
healthy it is, etc. On the screen there appeared a few 'facts' about
breastfeeding, eg the New Zealand study about better academic skills in bf
children was quoted. And there was said that good support is very
important, that sore nipples are a result of bad latchon caused by bf
mismanagement, and how low the bf rates are (17% at 3 months).

There was a mother with a five weeks old, who had unbuttoned from the top.
There was a mother wth a 10 months old and a mother with a 3,5 years old
nursling. That was quite a shock for the audience, but everything was
handled very positive bij Catherine. They even concluded that nursing that
long and nursing on demand doesn't 'spoil' the child but makes the child
more independent

The children and baby's on the show were very lovely. They nursed and fell
asleep on their mothers lap, even the 3,5 yo boy. Lots of close ups of the
suckling baby's.

It was 50 minutes!!!!
