I wasn't able to find the original post regarding colloidal silver and
breastfeeding but saw a posting saying it is fine.  As a Registered
Dietitian, very pro-breastfeeding, and also very concerned about what is
happening in the diet supplements market I strongly discourage colloidal
silver!!!  I communicate with a woman on the healthfraud discussion list
who has been severely and permanently colored by colloidal silver given
innocently by her MD. I've seen her pictures. If you're not prepared to see
them they could scare you.  Please don't take any chances.

Due to the Diet supplement and Health Education Act of 1994 there are no
regulations and control (even of what it says on the label) of exactly what
goes into these various diet supplements on the market. Things that are
labeled as drugs must pass vigorous testing and controls.  Now, many herbs
and supplements are being passed as diet supplements to avoid this lengthy
and costly (but safer for you and me and baby) route.  This means you don't
know what you are really taking or when breastfeeding what you are actually
feeding your baby.
