Hello Netters,
Medela did produce a 90 second video release last friday at Wellstart in
San Diego, CA- (Dr. Audrey Naylor), with Larry Gartner as the key person in
the video. It was in cooperation with LLLI, AAP (Betty Crase), ILCA
(Marsha Walker), and Marianne Neifert. It has been sent to CBS news
stations and hopefully with be aired after the Chicago Hope show on weds.
We can help by trying to get it aired in our local cities and towns. The
video features 1) Benefits of BF 2) Signs and symptoms that baby is getting
enough human milk and 3) How to contact BF help. You can give them your
names if you want. I would suggest to everyone-- contact your drs. in your
areas and let them know this is going to occur. Tell them they may receive
calls from breastfeeding mothers with questions. This is an excellant time
to educate everyone (including all the drs. and medical professionals).
Hopefully, we can use this as a good opportunity instead of another
negative dehydration uproar. Have a good week all.

dramatizing a fictional death of a breastfed baby due to dehydration. The
