Low doses of homeopathic medicine, 6C, 12C or 30C are the most common
sold OTC. Anything higher needs to be Rxed by a homeopathic dr. Lower
doses do not cause aggrevation. The worst thing that can happen is that
they simply won't work. Acute conditions are easiest to treat. Chronic
conditions such as asthma, migraines etc should be treated by
homeopathic physicians.
There is a difference between homeopathy and herbals. Herbals are
simply plants (what medicine used to be before giant labs made it
synthetic.) There are a number of good herbalists or trained
pharmacists. I would NOT go to a health food store in the mall.
Homeopathy works on helping the body heal itself. The patient is given
tiny, tiny doses of whats ailing it to trigger the body. For example
homeopathic ipecac is used to cure vomiting. Or homeopathic apis (bee
venom) is used for bee stings. It's kind of like how an immunisation
words. It is difficult to overdose or get into trouble with homeopathic
meds because the doses are so small, however it is always better to seek
a qualified professional.
