First of all, I agree with Gail - try and get the non supportive nurse
to help you design some new crib cards. - have to say this though -
why use any company's cards??? It's the old - "what you permit you
promote" scenario again and let's face it, for a TINY outlay on
printed cards, the company is getting LOTS of advertising!!!

Run the legal loop for sure - but so that you don't have to use any
advertising cards! design your own cards, or use a simple plain card
with a stamp on it to pretty it up. When I had my babies we had plain
cards with basic information (OK, it was pink for girls and blue for
boys!), as well, mothers could select a laminated card and write
special instructions with a marker pen. (there were some basic ones -
"no bottles please" "no dummies(pacifier) for me" "breastfed only",
etc.) Advertising at hospital, from the moment of birth is really
creepy. I don't know whether it happens in Australia, I would like to
think not because of the WHO code.
cheers from Northern Australia
