TO TARGET:
I would like to say you are crazy to make the comments you made, but that
would be unprofessional. So, I will succinctly say you are incorrect and
provide such misleading information to sell a product without regard for the
welfare of infants. The American Acadamy of Pediatrics in Dec. 1997 made a
strong, research-based statement that all babies should be breastfed with
great elaboration on this issue.
I will give you just one example of your own ad giving information without
thinking it through. The reason babies on formula can go longer (at times)
than breastfed infants is because they cannot digest formula as efficiently as
human breastmilk. Put that under your collective marketing hats and see where
you stand. If you change your stance to the correct one...you may not sell as
much formula, bottles, etc., but you will show you care about the health of
your littlest customers.
