The thoughts everyone has sent in about colic have been so helpful. Alison,
your recent post, how to make a Dx of exclusion, was wonderful. You
mention, "or the baby's vagal nerve is being compressed and the baby needs a
cervical adjustemnt or Cranial work."

I have a nice Dutch client, still breastfeeding second baby, now >2 mo, by
the skin of her teeth. Mom has been on the point of abandoning breastfeeding
for the last 6 weeks. Baby is getting plenty, but mom has been horrified by
the demands of this determined little bruiser who is bright, strong and
disgustingly healthy, but *needs her* 26 hours out of every 24! I
suggested a dairy/beef elimination, which seems to have helped a bit, but
baby was still unhappy a lot of the time. Finally they have seen a
chiropracter and after only one treatment baby has become a lot calmer. Mom
said "baby's vagal nerve was compressed - so that there wasn't enough acid
in his stomach - so that he couldn't digest the milk properly, leading to
colic."

Can anyone (Alison?) give a more detailed, technical explanation for this?
