I have a mother with severe endomentriosis who has been advised to receive
Lupron shots for 6 months or a hysterectomy. The mother wants at least one
more child so is choosing the Lupron treatment. She has a 12month old who
is still nursing 5/6 times a day. Her dr. said that her milk would dry up
within 24hrs of the shot. Mother keeps putting off treatment for fear of
her milk drying up immediately. I have read Hales description of the drug,
but was wondering if anyone has personal knowledge of anyone who has
received Lupron treatment w/o a drastic loss of milk, or if the milk
gradually decreased? I have searched the archives and have not found any
comment on wether the Lupron dries up an esatblished milk supply within days
of injection. TIA
