The discussion on babies storing food in their cheeks has been so
interesting. What a relief that the general consensus is that this is
normal - you reminded me that my eldest used to love little pieces of
grilled steak, complete with garlic and soy sauce marinade. He would chomp
away at each piece, but "forget" to swallow it before stuffing the next
piece in, eventually ending up with a wad in each cheek like a chipmunk. He
would do the same with slices of banana. I used to wonder about his
reasoning ability (!), but I'm happy to say he has grown up to be very
bright, so this must be normal behaviour for babies who are learning how to
handle "real food".
