Have any of you on the list worked with the March of Dimes in regards to
prenatal breastfeeding promotion, i.e., grant writing for funding of these
types of activities? I'd like to know your overall impressions and
strategies. We are wanting to fight fire with fire in our area by
providing BF promotion bags during the prenatal period, mainly to counter
the formula promotion garbage that is provided free of charge to area
prenatal HCPs by the formula companies. Despite complaints from patients
and other BF friendly HCPs, the practice continues at our hospital and in
the prenatal office settings. The WIC offices are the only place you DON'T
see it! Anyway, our local BF coalition thought we'd change our strategy.
Thoughts? Recommendations? Please share! The grant application is due
next week!
Yes, I'm still pregnant and due next week too!
