My name is Mary-Jane Sackett. I am a CD(DONA), RN, CCE in Western MA. I am
actively involved with postpartum women/families as a PP doula and would like
to keep my lactation information current. I have five children, all
breastfed, ages 25, 19, 19, 16, 14, and a variety of birth experiences. I
practiced as a IBCLC until 1990, at which time I took a position as a
Coordinator for a High-Risk Mother Infant program with our local VNA. I am
thinking about trying to get recertified as an IBCLC, and wonder if anyone has
done this after letting their cert. lapse.
My first question to this list is: how many of you have ever used immersion of
the newborn with its mother in a warm tub to try to get the baby who will not
latch on to latch on? I was successful doing this with a six day old baby,
the one and only time I have tried it. Mary-Jane, Pittsfield Doula
