Jodie.. Welcome to you and your fellow nursing students! What a
wonderful opportunity for learning!

I am a hospital-based LC and our hospital has a level II regional NICU.
We deliver a lot of twins, and I'm pleased to report that most twin Moms
at our facility breastfeed. You mentioned some of the very important
reasons your friend might choose to breastfeed. One of my co-workers
says that the most special reason she breastfed till her boys weaned at
15 months was the unique relationship she developed with each of her
sons. Her fear had been that the boys would not have their own time
with her.... breastfeeding offered each of them oodles of touching,
eye-to-eye contact, and sweet, wonderful, health preserving milk. I
wish your friend a safe delivery and a joyous nursing relationship with
her twins.
