Dear Roni,
I guess it would be a good thing to post on Lactnet the letter you are
sending to Oprah Winfrey. I am from Canada and we have not only this
show but some others that are similar. I do agree with you that this
type of show has power....

However, I suggest for all of us who would like to encourage this type
of action, to make it clear that a normal birth, non medicated, non
technically assisted, does have an impact on mother-infant attachment
and is conductive to breastfeeding, which is THE normal thing that comes
after.

I guess your move is an interesting one and I would very much like to
see your letter, as an idea for other Lactnet members also. We could all
write a similar one in our own language, for the shows we have each in
our respective countries.

In my part of the country, we just obtained some funds for publicity and
are looking for ideas. Yours is one that I will share with the regional
committee. Any other ideas out there? We meet next Wednesday and I would
like to come with creative ideas. We already are preparing postings on
busses and bus stops with LLL, and thinking about short TV clips but
those ones are so expensive! We already have short texts for the lay
public on the web page of the University of Quebec in Hull under Nurse
and Health. I would appreciate any other ideas you may all have. Thank
you in advance.
