Greetings Everyone,
I am very pleased to share this with Lactnet. One of the members of our local
chapter of Lamaze International (Long Island Chapter) is the head nurse of a
local hospital. This hospital does about 190 deliveries per month, they do
about 4 epidurals a month. FOUR EPIDURALS PER MONTH!!!!!! This is amazing,
since some hospitals have epidural rates of about 90%. She attributes this
very low rate, good nursing care, a one nurse to two patient ratio, and to
most of the nurses being Lamaze International childbirth educators. Just think
if all hospitals had figures like this. Let's all keep our fingers crossed,
she just took the IBCLC exam!!!!
