I need some information. I am afraid I know the answer but want to "talk" it
over with you. I saw a mom today that I had worked with before-a very
successful mom who has been back to work for a couple of months. She found
some mold in the yellow cap of her M----- pump and around the diaphragm-has
the mini electric. She said she hadn't taken that part off to clean for about
a week. Of course we talked about cleaning, etc. but she had pumped "about a
gallon" in the last week and doesn't know when the mold appeared. She froze
it right away. She fed her son some of the milk she knew was from the day she
found it and he didn't "have any bad reaction and drank it right down." She
wants to know if she has to throw all out or will it smell bad or see obvious
mold if it is bad? Does the quick freezing make a difference? I hate to have
her throw out her precious milk but I told her not to feed anymore until I
researched this some. We worked so hard to get her where she is and now she
could cry because she knows to clean her pump regularly but just "got busy and
reckless". Thanks for your help.
