As I have been reading the posts about the free formula that many
parents receive I decided to offer a suggestion for what can be done
with it. I volunteer as an emergency food deliverer for a local food
pantry. They are often in need of formula. The people who organize the
drivers are getting used to me asking how old is the baby and why isn't
mom breastfeeding. At one delivery I made a few years ago where the
baby was still quite young I asked the mom why she wasn't breastfeeding.
She told me she was, but thought she also had to give formula. I don't
know for sure if she believed me or what she did, but I explained why
she didn't and how to be sure her baby was getting enough breastmilk.
