>any effective way to introduce
the body of scientific knowledge regarding how beneficial colostrum is to
the newborn? <
No time for a proper answer (away a couple of days, should have left
already) But can't resist noting for everyone's entertainment that Cycling
Austrlia President has rejected a claim that head track coach Charlie Walsh
had administered grwoth hormones to his athletes because teh substance
referred to was -wait for it- "Colostrum, approved by teh AIS team doctor
Peter Barnes. The main purpose of supply was to build up their immune
system in order to protect the riders against infections frequently
encountered in training camps" says the press release in teh Melbourne Age,
13/8/98

Gues what group of adults will be paying for human milk once we let them
know it does indeed cotain growth hormones, as well as immune nutrients?
But I don't see the point in protecting riders against cows'diseases:
perhaps the AIS (Austrlian Insitute of SPort is running a herd of preganant
cows that it injects with human viruses before harvesting colostrum???
