IMHO placing a crib card on the bed where others can see the baby's name,
birthdate, weight, etc. would cause no more concerns about confidentiality
than one that says "I'm a breastfed baby." There are many concerns about
securtity that make crib cards questionable. Perhaps we should abolish the
crib card system & place a small label on the crib that cannot be seen through
a nursery window or read easily by visitors in mom's room. Of course, if baby
was to room-in & never be separated from mom, the crib wouldn't even have to
be labeled.
