To the readers of Lactnet,

My name is Leila Marcial, I am a CCE and RN. I am mainly a lurker on
Lactnet, but am learning from all of you to help my clients
w/breastfeeding.
I am an avid reader of Tom Clancy books....his latest one is called
"Rainbow Six", the lead character is John Clark, his daughter is an
intern, married, and expecting. I was hoping through the whole book
that he'd mention breastfeeding, and lo and behold.....the baby nurses
on the delivery table, "getting his first meal from his mother's
breast". Later on in the book it mentions breastfeeding again, her
father is thinking about his grandson "getting antibodies from his
mother's milk".
Also, in another book of his, "The Sum of All Fears", he writes about
a German couple who'd had twins, and she's "nursing my twins at my
breasts" when the government caught up w/her and arrested her, sent
her to jail.
So....even in political thriller/spy books/cia stuff we can find
breastfeeding............
I plan on writing him a positive letter.
There is a Tom Clancy web page, for anyone interested.
