Herbal day on the unit:
Today talking to a new mom, pumping for her baby in ICN, about increasing her
production and supply - she already had a tea with fenugreek - she had not
started that yet - and her OB!!!! had suggested Barley Grass to increase
production and supply. She had a small jar with a green powder that she
dissolves in water or non-acidic juice. She said it worked very well. I did
not see this new favorite OB of mine today, but will ask him about this next
chance I get. I searched the archives - no matches for Barley Grass. Anyone
ever hear of or use Barley Grass?
In BF class this am, two new moms reported that, prenatally they had been
drinking raspberry tea to "improve uterine strength" in prep for labor. One
requested a reference for an "on-line new mom herbalist". I've sent a post to
Tami.
Potential titles of Tami's new book or web site link: "The New Mom Herbalist"
or "The New Mother's Herbalist".
