I recently had a dietitian colleague approach me today about our hospital
offering a program on hyperemesis gravidarum. She brought up the
possibility of an educational grant from a major US formula company to
sponsor the program. Even though the conference is not BF related, I'm
having trouble with this idea and am wanting your opinions on this matter.
I know that the major formula companies sponsor dietetic cont.ed. programs
all the time, at least in the US. Is this in violation of the WHO code,
even if the conference isn't BF related? Any recommendations on how to
approach my colleague about this in a professional tactful manner? If this
is not an appropriate avenue for discussion, please feel free to e-mail me
privately.

TIA,
