Dear Everybody:
This in response to Linda's post about hydrogen peroxide. When doing wound
care, peroxide is diluted because straight from the bottle, it will damage
healing flesh. I remember using 1/2 saline and 1/2 peroxide.
Wounds heal best when they aren't hurt any more...so correct the
positioning or otherwise fix the problem Sometimes mom can pump for a day or
two if she is really scared and dreading the breastfeeding, but haven't we
all noticed than when the positioning is corrected, a damaged nipple can be
nursed on comfortably? And so what if baby's first solid food is a scab?
I like human milk on wounds, or L------h, or warm (or cool, depending on
her preference) wet compresses. Warmly, Nikki
