Last May, I posted asking for your experiences with moms who breastfed
after having breast reduction surgery. Your collective knowlege was inspiring
and your encouragement was wonderful. Well, mom delivered last week. 10 days
late, cervidil induction, 6 hours of "good" labor, epidural at 8cm, persistant
posterior baby, forceps delivery. When asked if she was planning on
breastfeeding, she told me she enlarged the opening to her gown, looked at her
breasts and shook her head NO!
EEEEECCCCCHHHHHHH!!
Thanks for all your information (printed out and shared with mom), your
encouragement and your efforts to help her. I think she was only giving lip
service to breastfeeding all along and I didn't pick up on it. She has had a
real love/hate relationship with her bosom since she "developed" at 11. So, I
admired an absolutely gorgeous baby girl and moved onto another topic so she
wouldn't see how disappointed I was for her baby.
Too bad the little one will only get the poor substitute.
