There was a good article in an issue of the Nutrition Action
Healthletter put out by CSPI (Center for Science in the Public Interest)
a few months ago. The address for CSPI is:
CSPI....Suite 300, 1875 Connecticut Ave, NW; Washington, DC 20009-5728.
I cannot find the phone number!
In the May issue it says the people who get a "tummy ache" from WOW
(olean) chips should call 1-888-OLESTRA or go to
www.cspinet.org/olestraform
Olestra will become more widespread and people need to read food labels!
My son wanted me to but fat-free Pringles yesterday and I was all set to
try them until I read the label and found they have Olean in them. My
son had a fit and started describing the TV commercials that give the
impression Olean is right from nature!
