To those of you who are sitting the IBLCE exam on Monday, here's Coach
Smith's advice:

1. Don't cram. Close your books NOW and don't open them again unless you
need to reference something for a client.
2. Get a good night's sleep and take your time getting to the site. Allow
for bad weather, traffic, etc. Dress comfortably.
3. Eat protein-rich foods, especially fish for the DHA content. Tuna salad
on a bagel is my favorite. Avoid high-carbohydrate meals as they may make
you drowsy.
4. Trust what you know about helping mothers and babies. How you handle the
2-a.m. problems matters most.
5. It's OK to miss a few questions. As Kathy A says, you only have to pass.
6. Read the question carefully before answering.
7. NEVER change an answer unless you are absolutely, positively SURE the
first answer was clearly wrong.
8. If you're not sure, take your best guess and first hunch.
9. Remember the Coach's rules:
Rule #1 - FEED THE BABY.
Rule #2 - the mother is right (also known as "support the mother/praise the
mother/compliment the mother")
Rule #3 - it's her baby. She gets to say what happens to him/her.
Rule #4 - nobody knows everything.
Rule #5 - there's another way.

Best wishes to all of you!
